An early May event is giving restaurants in the area a platform to show off their Menus to residents.
Downtown Newark Food Truck Festival is an event from the Licking County Coalition for Housing. The experience has been running for 11 years now. A number of trucks from the surrounding area will gather at one of the designated locations around the city.
Attendees can visit each truck and buy some dishes to try. Some of the food offered includes burgers, mac and cheese, gyro, bbq, grilled cheese, tacos, lobster, pierogies, pizza, and shaved ice.
In addition to being a showcase for local chefs, the event is a fundraiser for the Licking County Coalition for Housing. The concept of the festival was gifted to the coalition by the original organizers, the Argyle family, back in 2023.
Attending the Newark event is free. The spaces where the trucks will be parked are located throughout the Canal Market District. Live performers will be playing throughout the day as well. This will be taking place underneath the main pavilion.
Event information, including a list of specific trucks and a map of the layout, is available on the festival’s website. The event will be taking place rain or shine. Many experiences that are held as a way to raise money for a specific cause or organization will use flyer printing as an advertising method. The event will be taking place between 11:00am and 8:00pm on May 9th.
