What's Happening in Newark, OH…

Expert in popular cuisine to host class for community

A chef with an impressive resumé is running a class in mid-April that is sure to benefit Newark residents.

Chef James Anderson is a James Beard (JB) award nominee for his BBQ and serves his food out of a food truck, making him the only JB nominee whose restaurant is on wheels. Using his own land, known as Anderson Farms, Anderson will lead participants through techniques and go over some important culinary knowledge. Adding to the atmosphere are the Heritage Breed Hogs that will be roaming an area near the class zone.

Regardless of their prior knowledge and experience, every participant should learn something that can help them improve their BBQ game from this afternoon class. In particular, this lesson will cover brisket, wings, and pulled pork. Anderson is hosting the event with some help from Ray Ray’s Supper Club.

Tickets are sold through Eventbrite, with each costing a total of $268.61, including applicable fees. Refunds (minus site fees) will be available to anyone unable to attend provided they give at least two days’ notice.

Newark residents can find the venue just a few miles away in Granville. Flyer printing is a promotion technique for many food-related experiences like this one. The lesson is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, running from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
