Newark venue to host tribute to entertainment legend
A pair of Newark shows taking place in a few weeks will be honoring a performer whose popularity has spanned decades and generations.
Sweet Baby James is the USA’s top tribute act to James Taylor. Bill Griese is the performer behind the act. Like Taylor, Griese is a singer-songwriter.
Taylor has been working since 1968, and has become one of the biggest names in the singer-songwriter genre. His accomplishments include accolades such as honors from the Grammys, places in several Halls of Fame, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters from France.
Music from Taylor’s discography likely to be heard includes “Carolina in My Mind,” “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You),” “Sweet Baby James,” “Something in the Way She Moves,” and “Handy Man.”
Tickets to the Newark shows are sold through both the box office of the venue, Weathervane Playhouse, as well as its website. Wheelchair accessible seats are only sold directly through the box office. Pricing for tickets available online range between $36 and $41, which applies to both performances. Many musical acts will hire printing services to add their logos to merchandise sold at their concerts.
The dates will be Thursday, May 8th and Friday, May 9th. Doors for both shows will open at 7:00 pm.
