Legendary band to play Newark

One of the most famous bands in history is coming to Newark.

The history of the Guess Who goes all the way back to 1958, when the founding members got together in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where they were first known as Garry Allen and the Reflections. In 1965, they released “Shakin’ All Over,” and the title track was a hit in Canada and the United States. However, their label put the record out under the name Guess Who?, a publicity stunt intended to fuel speculation the record was by a more famous “British Invasion” band.

In their career, The Guess Who have put 14 hits in the Top 40, and their double-sided singles “American Woman” and “ No Sugar Tonight” are rock anthems. They have sold millions of records all over the world.

The show in Newark features some of the original band members, including Garry Peterson, a songwriter, original drummer, and founding member. He says fans will see and hear the songs as they should be, adding:

"We're coming at a new generation of fans who are seeing how the band can execute with enthusiasm. And we're also making sure the respect level remains at an all-time high for how the music was initially recorded and . . . for the fans who have been with the band from the beginning."

The Guess Who will be at the Midland Theatre on September 17 at 8.00 pm. Poster printing is often used successfully to publicize events like this.
