Celebrated country songwriter to play Newark

Country stars love to sing the music of Tony Arata, and soon he will visit Newark.

The Newark Organization for the Creative Arts (NOCA) is happy to announce an upcoming performance by Arata, who has written for such artists as Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks. He is a native of Savannah, Georgia, and grew up on Tybee Island. He attended Georgia Southern University and, in 1986, following many other hopeful artists, he relocated to Nashville.

In Nashville, his work was noticed by people like Garth Brooks and Allen Reynolds. To date, Brooks has recorded seven of Arata’s songs. One of them, “The Dance,” was named Song of the Year by The Academy of Country Music. It also won a Grammy nomination and a nomination from the Country Music Association and was listed by Radio and Records Magazine as a “most performed song.”

In 2012, Tony Arata was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has seen his songs go to the number one spot on the charts, with Clay Walker recording “Dreaming With My Eyes Open,” Lee Roy Parnell performing “I’m Holding My Own,” and Patty Loveless recording “Here I Am.”

Poster printing can be used to create colorful advertisements for events like this.

Tony Arata will appear at Newark’s Thirty One West on August 7, from 8.00 pm until 10.00 pm. Tickets range from $20 to $30 and are on sale now.
