Small business incubator space moves to Dayton

A community open house will be held by the Greater West Dayton Incubator later this month at its new permanent location.

The incubator is now on the second floor of the Cornerstone project of Wright Dunbar on West Third Street. It has 4,000 square feet for classrooms, co-working, catering, and additional amenities, thus tripling the amount of space the Incubator currently occupies. There are also two offices available for leasing from the Incubator. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform residents of new facilities.

All Incubator programs can now be brought together in one space. This includes the Mind Yo Business Week, which is coming up this month and celebrates Black Business Month.

Juanita-Michelle Darden, director of the Incubator, said:

“Now we have more space for programs and more ways to show up for our entrepreneurs.”

Michelle Darden added the location was designed for business owners in the community, who now have a new home.

As an initiative between The Entrepreneurs' Center and the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership of the University of Dayton, supported by a grant from the PNC Foundation, the Greater West Dayton Incubator supports entrepreneurs who may have insufficient resources or are underrepresented, providing them with educational programs, consulting, and micro-lending.

The open house will be this Thursday, August 13 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
