Dayton and Indiana universities establish healthcare degree program

Indiana University (IU) is collaborating with Wright State University in Dayton to expand the ability for students to pursue careers in the healthcare industry.

This partnership will enable students to transfer workloads and credits between the two universities so they can earn a bachelor’s degree in human life science with a concentration in medical laboratory science. Students will attend IU East for a foundational study program that will last three years. At IU, they will use the biology and chemistry labs and the virtual dissection tables from Anatomage for realistic learning about anatomy in three dimensions through digitized human cadavers.

During the fourth year, students will transfer to the Medical Lab Science certificate program of Wright State where they will gain clinical experience such as diagnostic testing and interpretation of results, operating laboratory equipment, and theory and applications. Once students have completed a year of clinical rotations which have been supervised at an affiliated clinical facility, students will earn a Medical Laboratory Science Certificate from Wright State and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Life Science from IU East.

Local Print shops can help in providing more details about such programs, courses, and their requirements with Brochures, Flyers, and other printed materials.

Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Wright State, Ayşe Şahin, expressed excitement about this partnership and their eagerness to welcome the first cohort of medical laboratory science students from IU East to Wright State.
