Artists of all disciplines will be celebrated by the Art in the City event of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. This festival is part of the “Summer in the City” program of the organization. This program celebrates the season with many kinds of events and activities.
Some of the landmarks in the city will serve as hubs for the festival. For example, Art Full Circle will be located at the Dayton Arcade and will feature 12 different artists educating attendees about their respective disciplines. As another example, many interactive dance stages where attendees will learn about different styles of dance will take place at the Schuster Center.
The Levitt Pavilion will be dedicated as a family zone and will feature face painting, bubbles, hula hoops, and activities that are child friendly. Food trucks, live music, and lawn games will be at Courthouse Square on N. Main Street.
The Block Party will also be held, and this will be a competition where artists will draw chalk murals on squares that are eight feet by eight feet. A prize of $150 will be given to the winner. Other competitions will include the Great Dayton Cake Off where chefs will bake and decorate cakes to become “Dayton’s Best Cake Artist.”
Poster printing can be used to promote such unique and extraordinary events throughout a city and neighboring communities.
Art in the City will take place on Saturday August 2.
