Yonkers welcomes new French restaurant

People in Yonkers have a new place to eat, as Le Moulin Eatery and Wine Bar opened its doors just over a week ago.

The restaurant held its grand opening celebration on January 29, kicking off with a ceremony at 12:30 pm. The Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District sponsored the opening ceremony, as did Mike Spano, the mayor of Yonkers, and a number of other leaders in the community.

The event featured a range of speeches from dignitaries, as well as plenty of eating, drinking, and mixing and mingling. Several important people from the community were in attendance at the event, including Chris Johnson and Michael Sabitino, both city councilmen, and Steve Levy, the
deputy mayor.

Josyane Colwell, a well-respected chef who has been in the catering business for 30 years, owns the restaurant. Before opening the restaurant, she established Le Moulin Catering in 1991. Entrepreneurs like her will often use printing services from the area to create their menu, especially since hers will focus on seasonal and local ingredients. The menu's inspiration comes from Chef Colwell's early years, which she spent living in the south of France.

Wine will also be a key factor on the menu at Le Moulin. The restaurant will offer an ever-changing wine list, including a rotating daily selection of wines by the glass. It is currently open Thursday through Saturday evenings.
