Yonkers residents are asked to add their names to the list of locals who will be giving Westchester County green spaces a good fall spruce-up.
The Westchester Parks Foundation is seeking volunteers for its Pitch in for Parks initiative, which will see groups of people of all ages participate in clean-up projects throughout the area. Those who are interested can participate for as long as their schedule allows, and they can drop in at any time during the four hours of the activity.
This event, which is the largest initiative of its kind to be hosted in the county, will see volunteers engage in an assortment of tasks, including weeding and planting flower beds, raking, painting, cleaning shoreline and trails and creating/restoring wildlife habitats. The removal of invasive plants will also be undertaken, and all the tools needed for the activities will be supplied.
When organizing this sort of event, it can be a good idea for the planners to order some themed Promotional Products to give to each helper to thank them for their assistance. These can range from fridge magnets to T-Shirts, hats and water bottles, and these can all be printed with the host organization’s Logo Design.
Pitch in for Parks will be held this year on October 17. Those who would like to get involved are asked to register for the location of their choice.
