As Yonkers heads into the winter deep freeze, the Crestwood library branch will be offering some warmth and respite from the cold.
The venue’s main reading area will see an activity that will introduce some eco-friendly practices that may be incorporated into almost any housework routine. It has been scheduled for an upcoming Wednesday afternoon, and will run for one and half hours.
The community members that attend the function will be treated to Mugs of homemade hot chocolate, and the recipe will be provided so they can easily make it at home. They will also make a flavored lip balm to help mitigate the effects of the wind and cold.
A discussion of sustainable practices such as using non-toxic cleaning products is on the agenda, and money saving tips will also be shared. The library branch is located at 16 Thompson Street, and the organizers may be contacted by phone at (914) 779-3774.
Libraries often serve as community hubs, providing a variety of workshops and other learning activities. A poster printing company can supply organizers with materials that keep the public informed about any special upcoming events on their agenda.
This opportunity to enjoy some warmth, connection and crafting on a cold winter day will take place on January 22. It will begin at 3:00 pm and continue on until 4:30 pm. More information about the activity is available on the Yonkers Public Library website.Get a Free Quote for Mugs
