Yonkers invited to explore future of food

Healthy food is a universal human requirement, and it will be the topic of discussion for a presentation at the Will Library branch of the Yonkers Public Library system.

The activity will explore the future of food from a variety of perspectives, and all input will be welcome. The facilitator will be Katherine Schwarz, who is a Public Health Nutritionist, and the event will run for two hours.

The group will discuss how the price of food has been rising, making it more expensive to eat, and everyone will be able to offer their own ideas for addressing this issue. They will learn how to trim their grocery bills while still eating healthy snacks and meals, and a sample snack will be served to the learners so they can see for themselves how simple it can be to lower their food costs without sacrificing on enjoyable snacks.

Workshops and other activities provide a way for members of the public to keep on learning throughout their lives. Handouts and other materials for a class can be ordered from local Print shops.

This exploration of the future of food is set to begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 11. A registration link for the session can be found in the Yonkers Public Library web listings. Seats are still available as of the time of writing.
