Yonkers’ Untermyer Gardens offers the public a chance to experience nature right in their own backyard, and one of its activities will help novice and experienced birders alike sharpen their skills.
A sunset bird walk will be paying a guided visit to the site, and the participants will be on the lookout for both resident and migratory species just passing through. It will be a 90-minute outing, and the guide for the session will be Nelson A. Rodriguez, who is a local birding enthusiast and photographer.
During the walk, the attendees may spot species such as cardinals, warblers, and sparrows and with a little luck, they may even be able to bag a species they have never seen before. Everyone will need to bring along their own binoculars, and to dress suitably for the weather and wear comfortable and sturdy shoes. Water is highly recommended, and the group will be walking over uneven ground.
Organizing a nature walk can offer the public an easy introduction to their area's natural history. A printer that offers binding services can craft basic field guides, birding Journals and other Corporate Gifts for an activity.
Nelson A. Rodriguez will be sharing his passion for birding on September 26, and everyone is asked to arrive by no later than 5:30 pm sharp. Tickets are $20, and fees and taxes may be applied as well.
