The young women were participants in the ‘Her Honor Mentoring’ program, which is sponsored by Judge Judy Sheindlin of the syndicated daytime TV show ‘Judge Judy’.
The program was developed by Nicole Sheindlin, Judge Judy's daughter, and is overseen by the Mental Health Association of Westchester and the Westchester County Office for Women. Organizers of events like the graduation ceremony, which took place at the Larchmont Country Club, often use Stationery printing services to create certificates recognizing each student's hard work.
Speaking to the Yonkers Daily Voice, Robert P. Astorino, the Westchester County Executive whose office oversees the Westchester County Office for Women, said:
“Mentors play such an important role in a person’s life. Not only did these young women get on-the-job training, but they also got to see first-hand what it takes to set goals and succeed in the workplace.”
The students were chosen for the mentoring program with assistance from their school districts. During their time in it, they were given stipends for the work they did.
Two Yonkers high schools participated in the program this year – Lincoln High School and Saunders High School. Other participating schools included White Plains, Nellie Thornton, and Mount Vernon.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
