Virtual museum to give presentations in Forest Hills

Families in Forest Hills can attend two online programs in April provided by Dinosaurs Rock® and the Queens Public Library.

Those interested in a fun learning experience can watch two virtual presentations from the company Dinosaurs Rock®. The first program explores the prehistoric world of insects and will cover topics such as the lifespan of bugs and insect anatomy. Viewers will even get an up-close look at the specimens. The second presentation is focused on geology. A few of the rocks and minerals that will be covered during the program include quartz, pyrite, and emeralds.

Dinosaurs Rock® is a company that organizes virtual and in-person museum experiences for public venues. The shows held by the organization are hands-on, educational, and use genuine fossils and minerals as part of the program. The group even provides activity supplies and creates downloadable study guides for their shows. A few of the services offered by Dinosaurs Rock include hosting assemblies, homeschool activities, and summer camps.

The presentation on insects will be held on April 13 from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and the lesson on rocks and minerals will take place on April 20 from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Both activities will be available on the library’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Educational events similar to this may be promoted to others through poster printing.
