Forest Hills residents looking for a way to give back to their community may want to check out an activity that will connect them with opportunities to do so in their own neighborhood.
The Church in the Gardens Community House will soon be the place to be for anyone in the area interested in volunteering but isn't sure how to get started. Many not for profit organizations will be represented, and everyone is encouraged to drop by.
The attendees will be able to browse through the various displays, speaking with representatives as they go. They can also meet others who are looking for ways to give back, and animal rescues, environmental service and advocacy organizations and a wide assortment of other groups will be taking part. The venue is within walking distance of 71st-Continental subway station, and parking passes will be provided for those who choose to drive. All ages will be welcome, and admission will be free.
Being part of a volunteer or community resource fair gives the public and not for profits a chance to connect. Pint shops will be able to supply Promotional Products at a range of price points, including options that may be a good fit for organizations working with a tight budget.
Forest Hills will be offering this one stop shopping event for those interested in volunteering on September 21st. It will be open from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
