Beginner bonsai class on offer for Forest Hills

Bonsai combines home horticulture with an opportunity to slow down and relax, and a Forest Hills area activity will introduce the practice.

The beginner bonsai growers who take part in the class planned for Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden will be learning the basics of growing this hardy species of plant in miniature. Everyone who registers is asked to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time so they can buy a drink and a bite to eat before they get settled in.

The facilitator for the learning session will teach how to pot, prune, wire, and provide top care to a bonsai plant. Everyone can pick their favorite from the ones provided, and will learn how they can use different techniques to achieve their desired look. Attendees can take their planting project home with them once the session has drawn to a close.

Home horticulture provides a way to bring nature indoors, and it can be enjoyed even in the heart of a city. Sheets of care tips and advice may help the attendees in a workshop provide care to their new green friend, and they can be prepared by Stationery printers.

This easy introduction to bonsai growing will be on offer on Wednesday, September 10, starting at 6:00 pm. The participants will be working with hardy jade plants. The registration fee is $85.
