Forest Hills locals interested in exploring photography can attend a lecture in August held by the Queens Public Library.
Those wishing to learn about the history of photography and the fundamentals of photo-taking can take part in a class taught by Nancy J. Schneider. The lesson will show participants how photography has shaped the way people view the world over time. Students will discover the principles behind what makes images work and may even share their pictures with the instructor to receive feedback. Artistic courses such as this can be advertised to the community through flyer printing.
Nancy J. Schneider is an experienced photographer who graduated from New York University, Alfred University, and the International Center of Photography. She also works as a teaching artist for Lifetime Arts and the Aperture Foundation, and served as a panelist for the Interdisciplinary Congress for the Research of the Imagination. Her other artistic disciplines include drawing, printmaking, painting, and mixed media.
The course will be on August 13 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Anyone unable to make it to the class can attend an identical lecture on August 20. The course is suitable for an adult audience, and guests do not need to pay or register to view the presentation. A link to the virtual lesson is provided on the event’s webpage.
