Moving for Life program offers Forest Hills classes

The Queens Library in Forest Hills, New York will be featuring a class from the Moving for Life program this March.

Moving for Life is a fitness course designed to turn exercise into something fun and accessible for all ages and levels of experience. The program promises to start at a comfortable rate of activity, and then modify the exercises based on the personal abilities of each participant. These workouts can be done either standing up or seated and will include different warm-ups, targeted strengthening, and light aerobics.

The Moving for Life program started in 1999, designed by doctors, movement therapists, exercise specialists, and other professionals as a means of preventing and recovering from cancer. Every instructor of the course has over 100 hours of training, and while many are from New York City, there are instructors located around the world in cities like Tokyo and Amsterdam. Companies interested in sponsoring the program can send their payments to the Move for Life website where their Logo Design will be displayed showing their support.

The fitness program will be held at the Forest Hills library branch every Monday evening, starting on March 4, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Each course will continue each Monday, April 29. There is no registration required to join, and admission is free for the public. There will also be a Moving for Life course held every Thursday at the Glen Oaks library location as well.
