Forest Hills to introduce children to 3D printing

The company iPlayTek in Forest Hills will be holding a summer camp in July that will introduce kids to the concept of 3D printing.

Parents looking for an exciting activity for their children this summer can enroll their kids in iPlayTek’s 3D Printing and Modeling camp. Students in the course can learn about how the printing process is completed, while also being educated on proper safety and handling procedures. Campers can create 3D models and can purchase a personal MP Select Mini 3D Printer to use for their creations.

Each day at the camp will have students participate in team-building and outdoor activities, lab work, and guided instruction. iPlayTek will also provide lunch for their campers. All students will receive a commemorative camp t-shirt and will be given an iPlayTek diploma at the end of the course. Businesses that have youth activities like this can work with Print shops to create ads to place at elementary schools.

The 3D Printing and Modeling camp will be held from July 27th to July 31st. Students can be dropped off by 9:00 am and can be picked up by 5:30 pm, though parents must get their campers by 4:00 pm on the 31st. The cost to enroll a child in the program is $899, and take-home 3D printers can be bought for $180. There is also a registration fee of $35.
