The Queens Public Library in Forest Hills will participate in a virtual festival on its Facebook page in November.
The 13th Annual Langston Hughes Literary Arts Festival is an online collection of presentations from talented writers and speakers. The Queens Public Library will be inviting Shailah Edmonds to give a live author talk on the library’s Facebook page during the event. Edmonds wrote a memoir about her achievements titled Wild Child to Couture Style. She has also worked as a model for several famous designers, including Armani, Dior, and Valentino.
The festival will be featuring several authors and presenters on WebEx. Dr. Juan Tineo will lead a lecture discussing the impact of Langston Hughes in the Hispanic world. Other writers at the event include Malik Kirkwood, Kay Bell, Judy C. Andrews, and Eartha Watts-Hicks. Those interested in attending the virtual presentations must register to receive a link. Organizations that create experiences like this can promote their festivals to library patrons with flyer printing.
The event will be held from Thursday, November 4 to Saturday, November 6. Each part of the festival is free for the public to watch, though guests must register to see the presentations offered on the second and third days. Prior registration is not required to watch Edmond’s author talk on the Queens Public Library’s Facebook page.
