Forest Hills library to broadcast interactive museum program

The Queens Public Library in Forest Hills will invite an educator from a local museum this December to give a virtual presentation.

Those looking for a fun educational activity can participate in an engaging virtual discussion regarding the works of artist and architect Isamu Noguchi. A representative from the Noguchi Museum will be giving an hour-long presentation on the museum's sculptures. Noguchi was a talented sculptor who trained under Onorio Ruotolo on New York’s Lower East Side. He opened the Noguchi Museum in 1985 and opened another museum in Japan in 1999.

The Noguchi Museum hosts several notable exhibitions throughout the year, such as Composition for Idlewild Airport and Noguchi: Body-Space Devices. The museum is still open to visitors, though visits must be scheduled in advance. Guests are asked to wear snugly fitting masks throughout the exhibits and gardens. The café, coat check, and drinking fountains will be closed during museum visits. Businesses with newly created regulations like this can use Print shops to make Signs ensuring visitors are aware of the rules.

The virtual discussion will be held on December 21 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. There is no cost to attend, and registration is also not required to view the presentation. The activity is intended for adults. Interested guests can find a direct link to the discussion on the event’s webpage.
