Flat Track racing returns to Carson City

The annual Outlaw Flat Trac motorcycle event welcomes riders of all capabilities over two days of riding next month in Carson City.

Nevada Motorsports Racing presents races for both amateur and professional riders in what it calls a “community-focused event”. Organizations that host these types of sports events frequently use banner printing to attract interested spectators.

Flat track racing, also known as dirt racing, began many years ago when riders competed on specially groomed and packed horse racetracks. For today's riders, the unique motorcycle competition can include four categories, including short-track oval, half-mile oval and one-mile oval races, plus a course that includes turns and a jump.

Top flat track riders use very specialized bikes with custom frames and no front brakes. Less experienced competitors often start out on motocross bikes that have altered wheels, tires and suspension parts.

The Carson City event will include the well-known Police Vs Fire Challenge Race with a portion of the proceeds going to support local police and firefighters. Other featured competitions include The Deuce Pro Motorcycle Race and a women’s all-star race.

Carson City’s Outlaw Flat Trac will be held August 22 and 23, 2025 from 6 to 10 pm at PMFuji Park Arena, 601 Old Clear Creek Rd. Children 12 and under can attend free when accompanied by an adult.
