Printmakers’ Conspiracy: Building Community Through Printmaking is an exhibit that will open next month in Carson City showcasing the work of artists who have experimented with monotype printmaking using a gelatin mold.
Printmakers’ Conspiracy initiated what is dubbed the Gelli Plate Challenge for its members as part of its mission to grow connections between artists of all levels. They are a Nevada group that promotes the art of printmaking through workshops, collaborations and exhibitions. Events such as this challenge are designed to embrace diversity and innovation while fostering creativity.
Using a gelatin matrix in printmaking allows an artist more control and provides unique results. Artists in the challenge were encouraged to include other media and materials in creating distinctive pieces of art. An array of different techniques, textures and Forms have been used in the works that form the exhibition, which will open at the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) Satellite Gallery.
This is a subsidiary gallery that hosts rotating exhibits as part of its support of local and regional artists. Artists who have their work showcased in galleries such as this often make their Business Cards available to visitors.
Building Community Through Printmaking — The Gelli Plate Challenge will open with a reception on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 4 to 6 pm at the BAC Satellite Gallery in Carson City. Further information is available on the Visit Carson City website.
