Award-winning author, musician, and radio personality Garrison Keillor is bringing his live show to Carson City next month.
Presented by the Nashville Social Club, the stop is part of a nationwide tour. Organizers of performances such as this often use poster printing to boost ticket sales.
Known for his humorous storytelling, Keillor has been entertaining for over five decades and has received an extensive list of honors and awards, including being a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame.
He is most well-known for creating and hosting the radio show A Prairie Home Companion, which aired on hundreds of stations across the country for 42 years up until 2016. The live broadcast combined comedy sketches, advertising parodies, music and stories. A mainstay on the show was a monologue called News from Lake Wobegon, a fictional small town featuring an ongoing cast of characters and witty tales of everyday life.
He has gone on to write essays, poetry and bestselling Books about Lake Wobegon. Although retired from radio, Keillor continues to entertain through new endeavours including writing poetry and limericks, his memoir, as well as podcasts, a musical and a screen play. His live tours have played to audiences around the world.
