Nevada Gourd Society presents the 4th annual staging of the Silver State Art Festival in just over a week’s time.
Nevada Gourd Society is a non-profit organization that educates and nurtures the skill of growing, curing, and crafting the Lagenaria (hard shell) gourd. The three-day festival features art made from the Lagenaria gourd, such as woven baskets, dolls, and owls. There will be artists on site who will display and sell their artwork and art supplies. Those interested in attending can also take part in the several art classes on offer at the festival. This year’s event is free to attend, but there will be a raffle where proceeds go towards the Nevada Humane Society. They will organize a pet adoption event during the art festival. Attendees can meet animals looking for their forever homes.
The festival is sponsored by the Nevada State bank, Nevada Artists Association, Brewery Arts Center, and Visit Carson City NV.

The Silver State Art Festival will be held on Friday, September 9; Saturday, September 10; and Sunday, September 11, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will be at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City.
