The City of Livingston wants everyone to be healthy and is restarting a program to help in this effort.
The Livingston Health Department is opening its free Walking Club beginning this month. The popular club will meet most Fridays to travel to West Orange, a short distance from Livingston, where members will walk around the South Mountain Recreation Complex’s reservoir. The walk is approximately 1.75 miles in length, and usually takes about an hour to complete. The route is paved and flat, so the walk is easy for everyone.
Participants are invited meet in the public parking lot of McLoone’s Boathouse, which is a free lot. McLoone’s sit directly on the shore of the reservoir, providing diners with outstanding views of the water, where several water sprays make the reservoir even more attractive. Walking Club members might like to stop in after their exercise to relax and unwind.
When they plan events like this, officials might consider using flyer printing to create handouts for participants, giving directions to the meeting place, and including the timing of the walk.
The first walk of the new season is scheduled for April 18, from 10.00 am until 11.00 am. The walks will continue weekly every Friday through June 13, weather permitting. The event is open to everyone over 18 years of age, and there is no charge, however, pre-registration is required.
