An upcoming event in Livingston offers runners their choice of timing.
The 3rd Annual Livingston Oval Ultra, as the name implies, has participants circling the Livingston Oval. The object is to make the loop as many times as possible before time runs out. The timings available are a 12-hour, six-hour, three-hour, and one-hour run.
The USATF (USA Track & Field) has certified the course, which is flat and fast. Race organizers ask that anyone who is attempting to set a new national or state record let them know beforehand so they can certify the results. Runners must wear their race bibs on the front.
The 12 and six hour races both start at 7.00 am; the three-hour race starts at 8.00 am; and the one-hour race starts at 9.00 am.
Sponsors will stock the aid station with both favorite foods and unexpected treats, and assistance for participants will never be more than a half mile away.
The average temperature ranges from about a high of 50° to a low of 29°F, which should give runners the information they need to prepare. The three top female and male participants in each race will be given a custom wall plaque, and everyone will receive a tech race hat.
Race day is March 7, and the course is Robert Harp Drive, which is public property. Runners are reminded that littering may result in disqualification. When organizers plan events like this, they can use banner printing to create fun decorations.
