Summer fun on Livingston schedule

A celebration of summer is back on the schedule in Livingston after having been postponed.

The Livingston “Summerfest” Food Truck and Music Festival, originally slated to take place in June, is now occurring later in the summer. The Livingston Rotary Club is sponsoring this family-friendly event.

Food and music are the centerpieces of the day, but the band line-up is still being finalized. However, 20 food trucks have already signed up to participate. Among them are Michele’s Bistro, which serves Korean pork tacos and Spanish garlic shrimp; BBQ from Magic Mike’s Smoked Meats; and Mexican food from the Mexi-Boys.

To wash it all down, attendees can choose from among craft and domestic beers, sangrias, and scratch-made cocktails. A valid ID will be required.

Eleventh Hour Rescue will have dogs available for adoption. Anyone who would like to give a pup a “furever” home needs to fill out an application a minimum of one week before the event, which they can do here. However, outside of the rescue dogs, canine companions are not allowed at the event.

There is no official seating, but people are encouraged to bring pop-up tents, chairs, and blankets if they wish. Organizers of events like this can create handouts listing the vendors by using flyer printing.

Summerfest is scheduled for Saturday, September 10. Admission is $5, with children under two admitted free. Tickets are available online via Eventbrite, or at the door.
