Local restaurants and the Livingston Business Improvement District have collaborated to organize a restaurant week for the town.
The idea for restaurant week, developed from the primary goal of the Livingston Business Improvement District (BID), is to promote and encourage people to patronize local businesses in Livingston. According to the executive director of the Livingston BID, Beth Lippman, promotions such as these are done at time when business may be somewhat slower than usual. All of the restaurants in town have signed up to participate in the event.
Restaurants will be offering various discounts, ranging from dollar or percentage discounts on orders, to fixed price Menus.
The owner of Il Giacolone’s, Joey Zayas, commented that he was a guest at one of his favorite restaurants in Bloomfield and was able to enjoy this kind of event as a customer. He thought the idea was a good one and is glad that Livingston decided to create such an event of its own.
Antonio Dinis, co-owner of Porto restaurant, added that he was excited about being to celebrate the end of summer at his restaurant, which is the newest eatery in town.
Most likely all of the participating restaurants are using various marketing services to promote their specials and discounts during restaurant week, which is running this week through August 26.
