Livingston residents recognized for community service

An award ceremony, honoring both children and adults, was held at the meeting of the Livingston Township Council on Monday, July 6.

The program supervisor for Livingston Youth and Community Services, Susan Ridley, presented medals and various certificates. The most distinguished award was the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which is an awards program that recognizes citizens and permanent residents of the United States who have achieved a certain number of hours of service. This can be over a period of 12 months, or a cumulative number of hours over their lifetime.

Sydney Arnold, Patty Arnold, Anusha and Avika Bansal, and Douglas, Donna, Mack, Zachary, and Desiree, of the Brower family received this award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Bunnie Ratner, as she had completed over 4,000 hours of community service in her lifetime.

In addition to be recognized by the President of the United States, award recipients receive an official pin, coin, or medallion, and a personalized certificate and congratulatory letter from the President.

Ratner commented that receiving this award would not have been possible without the support of the community, as one cannot do such great things without public backing.

To inform the community of this distinguished honor, the Town Council may turn to a local flyer printing company to Print a flyer with more information about the awards and the contributions of the recipients.
