A new barn is currently under construction that will be used to store all the pieces of the Camuso Holiday Display of Livingston. The barn is behind the gazebo at the Livingston Memorial Oval.
Thomas Cooney, head elf of the display, said that it has taken three years to get the project from a wish and an idea, to drawings and then reality.
The barn will have colors that will blend into the setting of the nearby park and a porch on the side with an overhang facing the 9/11 Memorial to prevent the building looking like a warehouse. It will provide more storage for the displays than the Committee has been using over the past 10 years, as it will have an attic on the second floor and a lower level with a concrete floor. There will also be a garage with an overhead door so that large items can easily be moved in and out of the building. Later this year, sidewalks will be added, along with landscaping and new trees.
Services like banner printing are often used at such sites to inform the community of projects and the many surprises that may be in store as the holiday season rolls out. The project is expected to be finished by late spring, with work on the flooring and electrics set to proceed over the coming months.
