The annual family concert to be performed by the Livingston Symphony Orchestra is coming up this month.
The theme for the concert is ‘Music for the Great Outdoors!’ and it will feature favorites from Handel, Grief, Mendelssohn, and more in an interactive format.
Guest conductor for the concert will be Adam Glaser. He is Conductor and Chair of the Conducting Department in the Julliard Pre-College Division and Director of Orchestras at Hofstra University.
The Livingston Symphony Orchestra started out as a small ensemble providing the orchestral music for a production of the Mikado in the town in June 1956. After this, Livingston wanted to provide more opportunities for classical music to be heard in the town and, guided by Music Director and Principal Conductor Istvan Jaray, the orchestra grew to become a leader in the state.
The concert is scheduled to take place on Sunday January 18 at 2:00 pm at Livingston High School. Tickets are available at the door and cost $20 for each adult, $15 for seniors and students, and are free for children under the age of 12 who are accompanied by an adult.
The Orchestra has used flyer printing to create a flyer with more information about this concert so as to draw attention to the schedule and generate enthusiasm for it throughout the community.
