People who love practicing yoga along with wagging tails and wet kisses should consider attending an upcoming fundraising event in Livingston.
One Step Closer Animal Rescue (OSCAR) is bringing some of their furry friends to a yoga class, where they will supply the cuddles while the humans practice yoga. The dogs and puppies will roam freely throughout the 45-minute class, so there’s a good chance wet noses will interrupt some of the exercises. Billy Ward, who is a co-founder of the Spirit 11ouse will lead the class, which is a mixed-level event, after which practitioners will have a “snuggasana” with the animals for 15 minutes.
There is substantial interest in the class and only limited space, so anyone interested should purchase tickets soon. Admission is $42.50 in advance, and $45.00 at the door, if there is space available. Part of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to support OSCAR. Additionally, since this is a fundraising event for the rescue, only the dogs from OSCAR will be allowed on the floor.
People are also asked to bring their own towel or yoga mat, and are reminded that no treats or food will be allowed, since there could be potential dietary issues for the pups. Finally, the event values participants’ privacy and comfort and discourages spectators.
The class is April 20 at Spirit 11ouse, 256 County Road 649 (S. Livingston Avenue). Organizers of events like this will often use brochure printing to create pamphlets explaining the organization they support.
