A grand opening was held recently in Terminal 2 at the Raleigh-Durham Airport featuring live music and a ribbon cutting all to celebrate Dale Jr’s Whisky River’s official opening.
The first Whisky River opened in Charlotte’s uptown area and has become popular with fun-seekers here. Now, his company’s unique Logo Design featuring ‘WR’ within a circle will show travelers arriving at the airport where they can enjoy the same food, drinks, and music that creates the restaurant’s signature honky-tonk hangout ambiance.
The food at Whisky River is described as simple, yet crave-worthy. The airport menu will include Spicy Beef Chili and Beer-can Chicken. Early-bird travelers can fill up on breakfast selections such as Peaches & Cream Pancakes and Carolina Biscuits.
The bar area is surrounded by televisions, allowing visitors to watch races or games. In addition to the usual variety of drinks available to guests are signature cocktails like Carolina Tea served in a souvenir mason jar, and Moonshine Mule, as well as local craft brews.
The restaurant will feature a country style associated with the Carolinas that includes a full wall sporting belt buckles and whisky barrel images scattered throughout. Guests can view the tarmac while seated in the dining room or they can dine on the patio with its Stationery bull and enjoy an open-air experience.
