The Durham Brick Convention is just weeks away, providing a premier event for Lego enthusiasts.
The yearly show brings in a wide audience, from children who love Lego to experienced adult builders and collectors. It is a full display of everything related to the colorful building blocks, including many activities and exhibits.
There will be wide-ranging displays that show intricate Lego models like the architecture zone and Star Wars creations, while visitors can see old Lego sets as well as inventive pieces from professional Lego artists. The fan display area, a convention highlight, lets builders from the local area and visitors showcase their work. Visitors can expect to see plenty of the distinctive Lego Logo Design, written in white with a yellow outline on a red background.
The Brick Convention supports community engagement and philanthropy. A part of the money collected from this event is given to Creations for Charity, a non-profit group run entirely by volunteer. During the holiday season, Creations for Charity buys new Lego sets for underprivileged children around the world.
Tickets are sold for certain timeslots to ensure that the space is not too packed and the environment remains enjoyable. The convention's educational parts consist of workshops and talks given by well-known Lego masters.
The Durham Brick Convention is slated for June 1 and 2 at the Durham Convention Center.
