Durham County Library announces upcoming coupon swap

A room has been reserved at the Durham County Library here in Durham for what is expected to be a regularly scheduled coupon swap.

Participants are asked to bring along non-expired coupons already clipped and transported in a baggie or envelope, which they are willing to swap. The library emphasizes that the group will have its own meeting room, therefore those interested can invite family, friends and neighbors to accompany them.

For those new to this type of event, there is no need to sort coupons by type, unless people feel it will make it easier for them. However, guests are asked to wait until they arrive to cut out their coupons, as it slows things down and takes away from the enjoyment of the event. Participants can also bring expired coupons that are cut and in their own separate envelope or bag; these will be donated to the military.

Plans are for the swap to be a monthly event on the third Thursday. The upcoming coupon swap is scheduled for May 17 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. It is unclear whether a poster or flyer printing will have been ordered and in the library entrance to direct swappers. If there are not any directions posted, inquiries can be made at the Information Desk as to the meeting room’s location.
