Downtown Durham offers new aerial and ground promotional tour experience

The Durham Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has released a new virtual tour video of the Bull City.

Designed to attract tourists to the area, the in-flight and ground view video of the city’s downtown core showcases the many changes and improvements the city has undertaken in the past five years.

Tourists planning a trip to the city can check out 13 main attractions found in Durham, including popular meeting and event centres like the Durham Central Park, CCB Plaza, and the Durham Performing Arts Center. The video offers an interactive experience, launching a 360-degree ground view after a location is selected.

Intended as a promotion and advertising tool, the Durham Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has already offered the video as a marketing device for local event organizers, meeting venue owners, and select partnered businesses. A unique Logo Design may be provided to further embellish approved printed materials.

As an added bonus, local education institutions, including North Carolina Central University and Duke University, may utilize the video as an admissions tool to showcase the city to prospective students.

The current video used in the virtual tour was shot on a sunny day in October last year. Plans are already in place to shoot a new video in the spring, to keep the experience a current reflection of the city’s landscape and attractions.
