Annual Durham event benefits Pints for Prostates campaign

Once again, the North Carolina Rare & Vintage Beer Tasting will be sponsored by Precision Fermentation and held in Durham next month.

It was announced recently by Precision Fermentation that it will be sponsoring next year’s NC Rare Beer event. A major provider of biochemistry technology solutions, the company will hold the one-day event at the Historic Durham Athletic Park, which was the backdrop for many of the scenes in the movie “Bull Durham”.

Pints for Prostates is an awareness campaign for prostate cancer started at the grassroots level. Brochure printing is among the ways organizations raise the public’s awareness of issues, with libraries being among the preferred methods of distribution.

The event’s sponsor, Precision Fermentation, developed the first real-time comprehensive fermentation monitoring solution that can be used by craft beer brewers, BrewMonitor®. Precision’s creation makes it possible for craft breweries to track pressure, pH, gravity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and conductivity from a PC, tablet or smartphone.

The 9th Annual North Carolina Rare & Vintage Beer Tasting provides a unique opportunity for attendees to sample brews from all over the country. Additionally, proceeds from the event are donated to Pints for Prostates, which has already raised over $100,000 during its eight-year history.

The tasting will feature selections from more than 50 breweries and will take place on January 25.
