The Minnesota Ice Festival will return to the Twin Cities area this January, aiming to celebrate all things icy.
The festival will focus on ice sculpting and carving, with the centerpiece being a giant ice maze filled with LED-lit paths. The maze aims to win a Guinness World Record by spreading across 18, 000 square feet. In addition, there will be three lanes of ice slides for visitors of various ages and experience level, as well as a 3500 square foot skating rink. Top ice sculpting teams from across the world will be invited to compete for the Carver Cup as well as a cash prize, with visitors able to see their work in progress on the weekend of January 30 and February 1, and the finished sculptures afterwards.
For those looking to warm up, the Festival will enter a Warming House with hot cocoa and classic Minnesota comfort food, as well as food trucks from across the Twin Cities region. Located in Eagan, the Ice Festival will look to attract winter lovers from nearby areas like St. Paul and Minneapolis. Festivals like this are popular winter fare across northern North America, often featuring colourful banner printing and other themed decorations. The event will also feature live entertainment and other activities to be announced.
The 2025 Minnesota Ice Festival will take place at TCO Stadium at Viking Lakes in Eagan on weekends from January 10 to February 16.
