The St. Paul Art Crawl will be returning this April, looking to highlight local artists and promote foot traffic to businesses across the city.
The spring event is staged across three weekends, with different wards of the city taking turn hosting artwork. The first weekend takes place in Ward 2, featuring locations such as Calendula Gallery, Gambit Brewing Co., and Lowertown Lofts Artist Cooperative. Wards 5 through 7 will follow the next weekend, with participating venues in Como and Payne-Phalen. The final weekend will feature Wards 1, 3, and 4, featuring the SpringPOP community maker market; theatrical presentation Niizh, starring an all-Ojibwe cast; and a screening of documentaries from the Doc U program.
The Crawl is hosted by the St. Paul Art Collective, which also hosts a citywide crawl in the fall. Art crawls and similar events have become a popular way to highlight artists and get people to engage with their city in a new way, with methods such as flyer printing and social media used to notify local art lovers. The St. Paul event has partnered with Metro Transit to help guide crawlers around the city, including a transit planner and a free ride pass.
The 2025 Spring St. Paul Art Crawl will take place on April 25-27, May 2-4, and May 9-11, at different locations each weekend.
