Upper Marlboro runs for charity

Upper Marlboro's Rosaryville State Park will be the location of the Rosaryville Half Marathon and 10K Trail Run taking place in early April.

Runners here in Upper Marlboro will get a chance to run to help raise funds for City Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides DC youth with enriching life experiences.

The course will be great for early season trail runners and beginning runners as it is not overly technical but will offer a fast, relatively flat, smooth run through fields and hardwood forests on open horse trails.

In-person preregistration will be $60 for the 10K, and $85 for the Half Marathon while registration for the virtual runs will be $50. Fees for the in-person runs will go up $5 on race day. If a runner refers three people, they will receive a $25 refund, and for six referrals will receive a second $25 refund.

Swag includes finisher medals, breakfast burritos at the finish line, music, give-a-ways, free race photos and race T-Shirts sporting the event's Logo Design.

Check-in on race day will begin at 7:30 am with the Half Marathon starting at 9:00 am. The 10 K will begin at 10:00 am and a free kids race for youth from two years old to eleven will be at 11:45 am. Kids will be divided into age groups for a short out-and-back sprint. Little participants may choose an item from a Treasure Box

Rosaryville Half Marathon and 10K Trail Run will take place on Sunday, April 7th.
