The first ever Trail Trotters 5k and Fun Run here in Upper Marlboro will be coming in early June.
This non-competitive, community-oriented, family-friendly outdoorsy run/walk/jog will focus on fresh air and enjoying the scenic farm trials.
Registration for each of the 5k and the Fun Run will be $81.88 for adults, and $49.87 for youth under the age of 16. Spectators may cheer on their favorite participants for free.
Adult registration will include access to the Runner's only concession area, and event T-Shirts.
All proceeds will go to the farm's riding programs. Promise Farms is an equine facility focusing on recreation and accessibility with programs for therapeutic riding, and equine-assisted learning (such as emotional awareness, problem-solving, communication skills and social interaction through leading and grooming the horse). It also offers recreational programs (such as social clubs, adaptive horsemanship and seasonal activities), and community activities. Events like this help fund program and facility expansion, therapy horse care, and rider scholarships.
Concession areas for events like this often have their paper products such as napkins, paper plates, Bags and straws printed with the event's logo done at local Print shops.
The first annual Trail Trotters 5k and Fun Run will take place Sunday, June 7th from 8:00 am to noon at Promise Farm, Inc., 16900 Clagett Landing Road, Upper Marlboro.
