Upper Marlboro goes to the fair

Prince George's County Fair will be coming for four days to Upper Marlboro’s Show Place Arena in early September.

Local 4-Hers will be bringing their dairy and beef cattle, meat and dairy goats, swine, and sheep to show and sell. Others will be bringing their entries for judging and exhibiting in 47 sections, including baking, food preservation, table setting, clothing, fabrics, art, electricity, woodworking, photography, gardening, and veterinary sciences. Posters, project Books, club displays, and banner printing are being finished to enter the Division 2 sections.

Fair guests can enjoy the flower show, talent showcase contest, fashion revue, and the 4-H Maryland Record keeping contests. Carnival rides, a petting zoo (with a camel), games, and pony rides will also be available.

Local businesses will be in the commercial space. Many will be passing out Promotional Products such as rulers, promotional Pens, and Totes. Vendors in the Arts and Crafts Space will be bringing their handmade items for displaying and selling. Non-profit organizations will be passing out informational Business Cards and Flyers, and many will be offering concessions.

The Prince George County Fair will take place September 7 through 10. Thursday through Friday’s hours will be 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday will be 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Admission will be $5 for kids 6 to 12 and for seniors 55 and over, and $7 for everyone else.
