Upper Marlboro farm holds fall festival

A fall festival is in full swing at Upper Marlboro's Montpelier Farms.

The farm has a 7-acre interactive corn maze, a smaller Spookley the Square Pumpkin corn maze, hayrides, Pumpkin Bowling and public bonfire where guests may purchase sticks, and S-more fixings.

The pumpkin patch will be open for everyone to pick their own pumpkins - little pumpkins will cost $3 and those over 5 lbs. will cost $.60 per pound. The $6 Paint-a-Pumpkin will be a creative interactive experience where painting supplies will be provided. Admission to the giant 65ft x 45ft pumpkin-shape jumping pad will be $2. Pumpkin Chunkin' mounted slingshots will be $3 per session.

Other attractions will be barnyard basketball, ride-on pig races, roping range, tug-o-war and hay-n-play. Farm animals will be in the petting area and little ones can enjoy the Cub Corral playground, mini hill slide and wooden playsets.

The venue has plenty of photo opportunities. Families often take the pictures they get at places like this to local Print shops to be added to yearly family Calendars.

Online admission is $19.95, and gate price will be $24.95.

Montpelier Farms is located at 1720 Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro. September hours are Saturdays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. October hours will be Fridays from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
