What's Happening in Upper Marlboro, MD…

Upper Marlboro dogs and owners participate in Paws for Justice

Paws for Justice, a walking event for dogs and their owners, will be taking place in Upper Marlboro in early April.

Hosted by Community Advocates for Family & Youth, Inc., the event has been organized to bring awareness and to raise money for animal rights and social justice initiatives for victims of crime.

The event will be a leisurely walk through the park.

After the walk, Upper Marlboro dog owners and their furry friends will get to experience various games, activities and competitions, and can meet other pets and their owners. There will be a Doggie Fashion Show, dog rescues, and prizes for the best dressed pets. A Mobile Vaccine Unit will be on site so owners can get their pets up to date on their vaccines. Pet-friendly vendors will be selling pet-related goods and services.

Pet-related businesses that sell at events like this often have custom-made business cards printed at local print shops. These cards often display colorful clip art of dogs, cats, birds and other domestic animals.

The opening ceremony for Upper Marlboro's Paws for Justice will begin at 9:00 am and the dog walk will start at 9:30 am.

The Paws for Justice event will be Saturday, April 5th from 9:00 am to noon at Watkins Regional Park, 301 Watkins Park Drive. Admission for dogs, their owners and providers will be free.
