Upper Marlboro dads, future dads, families looking for family fun, and anyone who enjoys some friendly competition and laughing, are all invited to attend Dad Games/DC coming in early August.
The event will be a celebration of fatherhood in a heartwarming, action-packed tribute to dads. Some of the 16 skill-testing, quirky challenges will include One Trip Grocery Challenge, Trash Can Basketball, Parallel Parking, Honey-Do List Recall, and Lawn Mower Relay. Others include Ikea Assembly, 30-minute Grill, Daughter's Hair Do, Diaper Change, and Styled by Dad Fashion show.
Some challenges involve both kids and dads. The Dad/Kid Capcut Film Festival will have the pair directing, shooting, and editing their own short films. The Slime Chef Battle will have kids and dads creating colorful slime in head-to-head showdowns; the Kid Business Plan Showdown will have dads pitching "businesses" that their kids have dreamed up. There will also be a Dad-Kid Goalie Challenge, and one where dads teach their kids how to tie a proper necktie.
Individual general admission will be $25, team challenges will cost $100, each individual challenge has a fee ranging from $28 to $29 and each category winner will receive $500.
Sometimes spectators who attend events like this go to local Print shops and get some banner printing done to have funny colorful Banners to support their favorite competitors.
Dad Games/ DC will take place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 5300 Crain Highway, Saturday, August 9th.
