Town center holds annual festival

The Largo Town Center Association will be holding its annual Downtown Largo Festival in Upper Marlboro in late September.

Through interactive activates, cultural experiences, inclusive programming, and timely resources, the upscale festival has been organized by a group of neighbors to raise environmental stewardship awareness, encourage collaboration and connections, and boost community pride.

Local vendors and artisans will be selling gourmet items, unique handmade crafts, and other services, while local food trucks will be offering food and beverages for purchase.

Many small business vendors use these events to get their products and logo designs out to the community.

Dancers, musicians and other entertainers from around the Upper Marlboro area will be giving live performances.

Local environmental agencies will be giving sustainable practice demonstrations and presenting educational activities about community initiatives such as stormwater management.

Community nonprofits will be providing information about their community resources, and guests are encouraged take time to support local business by shopping at them during the event.

Admission will be free, and tickets are available online. Those getting online tickets will be registered for prizes.

Volunteers are needed for planning and preparation, set-up and event day support, and clean-up after the festival. All volunteers will receive T-Shirts printed with the event's graphic design.

Downtown Largo Festival will take place, at 955 Shoppers Way, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 28.
