Senior citizens in the Upper Marlboro area are invited to attend the Family Health Expo Senior Lifestyles Edition coming in early March.
The expo will have healthcare and fitness businesses, including senior care facilities, chiropractors, eye care providers, gyms and equipment, heartcare specialists, rehabilitation centers, doctors and dentists, massage therapists, and vein restoration clinics.
Attendees at events like this often amass Business Cards from those vendors and care providers they wish to contact afterward.
The expo will connect guests with over 50 community resources and offer demonstrations in areas such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), yoga, proper lifting, healthy cooking, exercise equipment, and first aid. Activities will include chair massages, martial arts and ergonomics.
Lifestyle screenings for blood pressure, bone density, hearing, glucose, flexibility, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) will also be available. There will also be mobile mammography testing and health risk assessments.
Education and awareness areas such as self-care, back care, recycling, stress information, cancer, and preventive exam scheduling, preparedness, and recreational safety will be addressed. Other areas in which seniors may be interested will be dental and oral health, first aid and emergency information, and men’s and women’s health issues.
Discussions on topics such as mental health, depression, arthritis, and weight loss will be given by panels of legal and medical experts.
Admission will be free, and the event will be Thursday, March 3 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Relevé Co-Working & Events Center, 5010 Brown Station Road, #145.
