Pair of Upper Marlboro events to keep folks active
Upper Marlboro's event calendar has a couple of active events planned for early February and early March.
At Pre-Superbowl Line Dance Party IX, DJ Will Baker will be providing music for line dancing. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite team jerseys. A water and cash bar will be provided, but guests will have to bring their own food. The $30 cover charge will include door and game prizes, a 50-50 raffle, a photo booth, and access to vendors.
Parking will be free, and doors open at 6:45 pm. The event will run from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Marlboro Moose Lodge 1856, 15103 Marlboro Pike on Saturday, February 8.
On the Trail to Transformation Wellness Walk, the Blue Trail will be a serene one-mile loop catering for beginners. The three-mile Green Trail will be a little longer and the path meanders through woodland scenery. The longer trail, the five-mile Orange Trail, will be a little more challenging but participants will be rewarded for their exertions with scenic views.
A pre-walk warm-up will be a yoga and stretching session. A post-walk celebration will have giveaways, healthy snacks, and a group photo.
Organizations that have commemorative photos taken at their events often go to local print shops for duplicates to send to participants.
